A slow first quarter plagued Northwest on Thursday evening as Nebraska-Kearney earned a 75-51 road win.

The Bearcats (8-9, 3-4 MIAA) trailed 24-9 at the end of the first quarter.

Northwest shot 52-percent on two-point field goal attempts in the game and scored 30 points in the paint, but it wasn't enough to overcome UNK.

Paityn Rau and Mallory McConkey each finished with 14 points off the bench.

Northwest is back home Saturday for a battle with No. 10 Fort Hays State at 1:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 1pm.
